A warm welcome Felicia to Mindful Universe and this group :)

Do you have any kind of mindfulness practice like Tai Chi, sitting or walking meditation etc? I find that by having a regular practice I am able to transfer the Silence (or call it Space or Peace) I experience during practice to work and other challenging situations.

More specifically, taking one purposeful breath - deep breath in and letting go, ahhhh - helps me become present and break what ever cycle I am stuck in. This can be done regularly through out the day or you can create reminders on your phone (The Mindfulness Bell app) or every time the phone rings etc to take a purposeful breath.

As for slow work preparing food etc provides wonderful opportunities to notice your thoughts and emotions at the time and how you relate with them. Can you simply be with whatever arises at the time, with loving kindness to yourself?

More later...let me know what you come up with and your experience with mindfulness :)

Hello all, Love this site and opportunity to connect. I work at a cafe and would be open to any tips, ideas or resources that might be relevant to creating moments of mindfulness in loud, sometimes super fast, sometimes mind-numbingly slow work preparing food, coffee, making change, cleaning and dealing with all kinds of public interaction... thanks in advance and Ill be posting things as I find them too.
